Courses in Mental Health

Global offer a range of quality educational opportunities to our nurses, both in terms of continuing education and in-house training. Our Courses in Mental Health are subsidized and are subject to strict entry and contractual criteria.

At present we are seeking applicants for the following courses in Sydney:

  • Master of Mental Health (3 years part time).
  • Graduate Diploma in Mental Health (2 years part time).
  • Graduate Certificate in Mental Health (1 year part time).

About the Institute

The New South Wales Institute of Psychiatry is the major provider of continuing professional education in mental health in Australia. The Institute provides training for health care professionals, psychiatrists-in-training, consumers and staff of non-government organisations, general practitioners and the public.

The Institute is committed to fostering and developing mental health education to meet the needs of professionals and the public, now and in the future.

One year, two years or three?

Global Advantage is excited to offer to financially assist towards the attainment of post graduate qualifications. In association with the New South Wales Institute of Psychiatry we have identified three graduate courses of varying duration, to provide you with the flexibility to suit your own personal requirements in furthering your career.

All three courses are based on a part time study basis so that you can work concurrently within the mental health area and gain or further your practical exposure to complement your academic achievement.

Studying from abroad

As the course is through distance learning, it is possible to either commence or finish your qualifications within Australia or overseas (for overseas students fees would then be the candidates own responsibility).

For example:

  • If you were to complete 8 subjects, part time over two years, the option is available to either obtain a graduate certificate in Mental Health or continue on in the UK for an additional year and graduate with a Master of Mental Health.
